Moongazing Hares

These are some of the paintings created in response to the story of Ostara, the Saxon Goddess of Spring and of Dawn, and her relationship with Lepus, the Hare. We also looked at many images of hares transfixed by the moon, a common feature of tales and images from many cultures.
